Participation in the restoration of war-affected regions is an important area of SEAL's activity
On November 24, in Kyiv, representatives of our SEAL Center team took part in a round table where they discussed the problems of environmental protection during the war and post-war reconstruction. It was organized by the public union "Enough to poison Kryvyi Rih".
The round table consisted of three blocks, which were devoted to extremely important and urgent issues:
- compliance with the principle of non-discrimination of residents of industrial regions during the post-war reconstruction of the country, reform of the environmental monitoring system and recognition of non-state monitoring systems;
- consequences of military operations for the environment in terms of sustainable management of destruction waste;
- demining the territory of Ukraine.
There were very interesting and useful reports from representatives of FAO UN, the Charity Fund "First Recovery Fund of Ukraine" and other participants, including state institutions and international organizations.
Representatives of the SEAL Center took an active part in discussions in the thematic panel on demining the territories of Ukraine.
During the event, our Center signed documents on strategic partnership with some participants of the round table, but more on that later…
