SEAL Ukraine contributed to the development of ICoCA’s new Guidance on the reintegration of former members of armed forces and armed groups into private security companies.
For us, it is important that this document reflects not only formal procedures, but also the practical dimension of transitioning from military experience to a civilian professional role. We provided professional recommendations grounded in real operational challenges, personnel training, and an understanding of what responsible veteran integration into the security sector should look like.
It is especially valuable that the Guidance emphasizes ethical standards, human rights, non-discrimination, mental health, proper vetting, training, and professional development. This is exactly the kind of approach that creates the foundation for a sustainable, professional, and responsible system of veteran employment.
We thank ICoCA for involving us in this work and for recognizing the practical experience of Ukrainian companies. We believe that initiatives like this help strengthen standards in the security sector and create meaningful opportunities for veterans, their families, and society as a whole.
